Joint Venture Brings a New Source of Tier-1 Solar Photovoltaic Modules to the U.S. Market

NEW YORK, Nov. 7 – Philadelphia Solar and Translucent Energy have joined forces in a strategic partnership to bring high-quality, Tier-1-produced photovoltaic modules to the U.S. market. Currently operating as Trading Philadelphia Solar, LLC., the joint venture offers a full-range of utility to residential-grade PV modules.

The new alliance has the means to immediately meet U.S. demand with mono-PERC PV modules (400-410W and 530-550W) priced as DDP/ LDP (Delivered Duty Paid/Landed Duty Paid) and complete with required UL certification, with no unexpected costs, and no delivery or permitting complications. Thanks to an exceptional team with broad experience in solar development, the company can deliver modules optimized to developers’ needs. Not only does the alliance oversee module production from silicon to ingots, bricks, wafers, and cells, providing exceptional quality PV modules, but additionally these can be packaged for delivery on site in pre-grouped strings within very tight output tolerances to provide developers with the highest production possible in any given array.

The joint venture brings the two companies closer to future expansion plans for a U.S.-based manufacturing facility. The companies are on track to complete a 1.2GW manufacturing line for U.S.-made mono-PERC modules by Q4 2024, with plans to transition to state-of-the-art heterojunction-process modules by 2025. The alliance of Translucent Energy and Philadelphia Solar will ensure that solar developers have access to the quality modules they need to reach energy independence in the U.S. market with greater speed and optimal efficiency. Mohammad Shehadah, CCO of Philadelphia Solar, commented: “As the solar market continues to expand, we are delighted to partner with Translucent Energy to undertake this transformative step for our business, first by growing our exports to the USA, and secondly through our planned 1.2 GW panel factory in America.” Nour Mousa, the CEO of Translucent Energy, said of the joint venture: “With global supply chains facing unprecedented disruption, many U.S.-based solar developers are struggling to find a reliable and cost-effective source for their solar panels. The exceptional response we are seeing from developers demonstrates that our joint venture addresses a key market need.
